Utah Visit

So about a month ago I was able to go back to Utah for a visit. I hadn't been back since I moved away over 2 years ago. It was such an amazing opportunity to go back and visit with some of my best friends! Here are a few pictures from the trip.

The first day I got in! We went to brunch.

Linh told me about how good this place was and it did not disappoint!

Shopping at City Creek Mall. By far my favorite mall ever. Needless to say I did a lot of shopping on this trip.

Cheesecake Factory lunch.

Lunch with Melanie

Meeting little Logan for the first time!

In downtown Provo, I wanted to see the progress on the Tabernacle that burned a while back.

Riverwoods.

We found Angie while we were there!

Dinner with Summer.

Lunch with Amanda.

Goodies to bring home!

At the airport.

I was so blessed to be able to go on this vacation. I never realized how much I missed Utah and the friends I made while I was there. Hopefully it won't be two years before I see them all again!

Catching Up

Time has been flying by for us! Shortly after Kevin and I's one year anniversary we were sealed in the Washington D.C. Temple. It took place on April 14th, 2012. Lucky for me there is a solid two and a half weeks in between the day we got married and the day we were sealed, so that means two anniversary celebrations in the years to come! I don't think Kevin shares in my excitement of this though :) We had a super long day so we didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but here's what we have.
Kevin and I right outside of the East Doors.

The family

Not long after we were sealed, I started to travel back and forth with my dad to Florida every week for work.

When I'm home in NC, I'm normally trying to juggle my time between being a Scentsy Consultant, helping Amanda with her photography business, helping my parents with the business in NC, trying to spend time with my husband, trying to spend time with my family....Olivia ;), trying to fulfill my church calling in Primary, and making an attempt at keeping my social life going. Something had to give and sadly my "words with friends" and "draw something" challengers have probably seen and felt the effects of my new schedule the worst, haha.

Kevin is also staying busy as well, he's working a full time job (12 hour shifts), taking five classes, he works with the young men in church, he's constantly picking up side jobs, he's trying to do all the things around the house that I normally do, and when I'm home he's trying to spend time with me. We try to get a date in, but it's proving difficult.

Traveling is tough, but it has it's perks, its nice to get out of our small town for a little bit. And Florida is beautiful. I do work all across the state, from West Palm Beach (gorgeous) to Fort Myers, and everywhere in between.

The next few months have some exciting things in store for us, hopefully I can post a bit more!

One year down!

Yesterday Kevin and I celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple! I can't believe how fast the time goes by. I can remember the chaos, nerves, and the RAIN on our wedding day like it was yesterday. This anniversary is a bittersweet one for me. I'm sad because we are no longer officially newlyweds (and it makes me feel old), however everyone says the first year of married life is the hardest to adjust to, and I am more than thrilled to have that behind me!

We celebrated all day! To start things off, Kevin came home and made me breakfast in bed. He also arranged my day to where I wouldn't have to go into work! Here is a picture of the excellent breakfast Kevin brought me!
This was the sweetest thing. I couldn't eat all of it but it was delicious. Kevin made 10 eggs for us, haha!

After breakfast we both got ready for our day and we went over to play with my niece, Olivia, which is one of my favorite things! While we were playing with Olivia we were talking to Amanda and Jeremy and decided to invite them to go out with us. While they got ready to go we went out to lunch to my favorite Mexican restaurant in town, El Charro.

We met back up with Amanda, Jeremy, and Olivia and started to head towards Raleigh. We went shopping for awhile and then made our way over to Kanki. The best Japanese restaurant EVER! We pretty much had the table and grill to ourselves and the food was amazing. Our chef, Nelson, was pretty cool too! I wish I would have gotten a picture of him. Once we were done eating we headed out to do a little more shopping and Kevin bought me a pair of nude pumps that I've been wanting forever. He's the best :)

Olivia and her chef hat!

Eating my favorite soup(even though I'm not in focus)

I've just recently finished The Hunger Games book and so we went to see the movie while Amanda and Jeremy took Olivia to see The Lorax. I'm pretty sure Kevin did not want to see the movie at all, but I think he ended up enjoying it! After our movie we went to get ice cream and I thought our night was done. We traveled home, dropped off Amanda, Jeremy, and Olivia and went to our house.

I came home to this! So sweet, I didn't have a clue Kevin was doing anything else! He can be sneaky sometimes...

Overall all we had a fantastic day and we're looking forward to an eternity of anniversaries together!

2011 Holidays...paraphrased :)

Our first holiday season as a married couple was great! It was super busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. To start off we went down to Orlando, Florida for Thanksgiving (and my birthday)! We really just spend our time relaxing and being lazy. Our family spends so much time being busy that we didn't feel like going on a vacation with an agenda. It was so nice to not have a schedule to follow! The weather was gorgeous the entire time, and most of our nights were spend eating, shopping, and watching the live entertainment at Downtown Disney. Our days were filled with sleeping in, going to the movie theater, and a little bit of sightseeing.

Downtown Disney...My favorite Disney Princess!

For my birthday we went to T-Rex Cafe. It's an awesome restaurant in Downtown Disney. As soon as you step foot in the door you are transported back to the prehistoric ages with the dinosaurs. I can't even begin to describe it all. It's pretty awesome!
I know this is a horrible picture, but the lighting is so low its tough to get a good one!

We also went to see ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Resort. It features 4.5 acres of ice sculptures. Over two millions pounds of ice. And they keep it 9 degrees in there! This year ICE! featured Shrek.
Getting ready to go into ICE!

For Thanksgiving day we went down to my brother Brad's house. We spent the day with him, his wife Niki, and their four kids, Owen, Alex, Kate, and Jane. I'm pretty sure we all ate too much food, but it was soo good!

Christmas this year was sooo hectic! Kevin and I had 5 different places to go on Christmas day! We started the day off at 5:30 AM :/ We did our Christmas together at our house and then left to go to Kevin's dads. On the way to his dad's house Kevin tried to blind a state trooper with his high beams so we got pulled over....on Christmas morning....in our pajamas....and to top it all off, Kevin didn't have his ID, haha. At least it was memorable! We spent the rest of the day going to various family member's houses and just enjoying each other's company. It was a great first Christmas!

Honeymoon Part 3

This is going to be short with a lot of pictures. Its taking way too long to cover the honeymoon with so many things going on in our lives! So here we go! Our first stop on our cruise...Cabo San Lucas!

So let me just begin by saying I was super scared to be in Mexico. Call me a wuss, but I'm really scared to go out of the country. It seems like headlines are flooded now with Americans being held in another country and they're not able to get home. I don't even fully understand our judicial system, much less Mexico's. I was nervous to be there. It was beautiful though! And I was comforted to see a U.S. Coast Guard ship docked there!

The yacht anchored in the bay.

The views going into harbor were beautiful!

Our ride from ship to shore!

While we were waiting to get through the checkpoint at the docks these little guys showed up!

So ignore the guy to the left, I didn't feel like cropping him out. But the pirate was a real person working for tips. Poor guy had to be so hot! I can't imagine being out there in all that costume and paint!

This was when we got onto our boat to take our tour around Land's End.

 Our ship!

Sea Lions on the rocks!

This bird was the funniest thing! That open hatch right in front of it had the catch of the day in it. The fishermen had to keep chasing him off!
Our sea lion friend, he put on a show by the pier.

On the bus to our second part of our tour!

The view from the resort we visited!

That's pretty much our first day in Cabo!

Next we went to Puerto Vallarta!

On our tour!

Crazy statue rocks on the beach!

These guys were so cool!

Lady of Guadalupe Church

Artwork inside!

Don't judge me, but yes, that is a casket in the middle of the isle that you can see. We crashed a funeral. In my defense the tour guide said it was okay..

Here's the second day we spent in Cabo, this day we didn't do any tours we just walked around with our friends Landon and Emily.

Cabo's Public transportation

Cheese Pie. It was delicious!

So good! I love Mexican food.

We had a wonderful honeymoon and were incredibly blessed to do all the things we did!
