Honeymoon! Part Two.....FINALLY!

So it's been awhile since I've posted. First let me give you my excuse....my MacBook screen is pretty much toast.
Not sure exactly how this happened...I think most of it was just being old and being used. I do think Kevin stepped on it too, and it just sped up the toasting process (he won't admit to it though)

Its not a good excuse but its all I got. All of our honeymoon pictures from the cruise are on this computer and I haven't downloaded them onto my moms computer yet. The pics will eventually get up here.

So our cruise was AWESOME! As you know we were on a 7 night cruise down the Mexican Riviera with stops in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. We were originally supposed to go to Mazatlan but due to "the changing environment" Disney decided to skip this port of call and replaced it with two stops in Cabo. I was still happy. I was already a little nervous about going to Mexico with all the drug cartels and violence we had been hearing about recently.

We boarded the Disney Wonder on April 3rd and immediately went to get lunch. The food was included, so why not? Then we went on a search for a camera. Luckily the ship has Shutters. Shutters is all about cameras and photographs. Its where you pic up all of your pictures that were taken on the cruise. The rest of the day we took it easy. Just walked around the boat and enjoyed the weather! When our first dinner came around I was somewhat nervous. For those of you who have never cruised, at dinner time you have assigned seating and sit with the same people throughout your cruise. There are no tables for 2. So we knew we would be meeting some guests. Lucky for us, we were seated with two other amazing couples! I'll be mentioning them later so I'll go ahead and give you the names. We had Landon and Emily from Arizona, and then we had Brian and Suzanne from Cailfornia.

I won't take you through the details of everyday but I'll hit all the important things. This cruise was really about us being able to relax so we didn't have a strict schedule. We stayed up late, slept in, and ate a lot of delicious food.  We watched three movies on the boat, Tangled in 3D, I Am Number Four(loved it),  and, Gnomeo and Juliet(yawn). We also went to see some live shows. We were able to see Toy Story, The Golden Mickey's, and Disney Dreams. All of them were fantastic shows and I would recommend anyone to see them. The performers are so talented! They dance, jump, tumble, and sing all while on rough seas. I was really amazed at the things they could do. I could hardly walk up the stairs without stumbling, much less dance!

Kevin and I were also able to go see some of the adult entertainment. Its not what it sounds like...I mean, come on, its Disney. How adult does it get?? Disney's version of adult entertainment is just the late night shows, with some jokes and punch lines that children wouldn't appreciate. We saw three different shows. Comedy, magic, and ventriloquism. The comedy show was hilarious! I wish I could begin to tell you what it was like! Its something you will have to experience. The magic show was pretty entertaining, I think Kevin enjoyed it more than I did, but it still kept my attention and kept me guessing. The ventriloquist was good, but Kevin and I are big fans of Jeff Dunham. The ventriloquist on the ship was skilled at ventriloquism, but he just didn't have the jokes like Dunham!

Under the influence of Brian and Suzanne we decided to try out Palo. The ship's adults only restaurant. Kevin and I were skeptical about it because there was a cover charge to dine there. We weren't sure if the food would really be worth it since all the other food on the ship was already so good and was included in the initial cruise cost. Our dinner table had all decided to go to Palo together one night and it was so worth it. The food was spectacular! There aren't even words to describe it all. I took tons of pictures of everyones plate. Our server Tony that night was also one of the coolest servers ever. He was such a nice guy! He did accidentally spill some sauce on Suzanne. I forget how it happened exactly, but he felt so bad. The good thing was she was wearing black so you couldn't see anything on her dress and the restaurant had the dress dry cleaned, free of charge!

After we finshed eating at Palo(and after Suzanne had changed clothes) we decided to go to one of the clubs called Wave Bands. They were having a game of the Newlyweds that night. Landon and Emily were chosen to play and were the newest married couple! After finding out some super funny and entertaining things about them, they won the game! They won a pass to the ship's Vista Salon and Spa! Since they had already bought passes to last them through the cruise, they decided to give the passes to us.....score!

On one of our days at sea we decided to go to an art auction on the boat, just for kicks. Of course almost everything that was auctioned off was waaaay out of our price league, but it was interesting to see what other people would spend. There were several pieces I would have loved to have in my home, but it just wasn't going to happen. The auctioner, Saul (who also looked like a young Alec Baldwin), gave out raffle tickets like crazy. He would ask questions and it didn't matter what your answer was, he would give you a ticket. At one point he started giving out bottles of champagne. Kevin and I were given one because it was our honeymoon.

Kevin pretending to be passed out. Haha

Since we don't drink we decided to store it in our fridge in the room and save it for our friends for our last night on the boat. After we saw several thousand dollars worth of art be sold, Saul started to raffle off some things. Most of the raffle pieces were not pieces I would like in my house. Plus you may get to get the work of art for free, but then you had to pay to get it shipped to your house. I was praying our number didn't get called. As soon as I finished praying our number did get called. I think I was the most un-excited person to get something for "free". It was a painting of some children on a beach. It would have been cute for a beach house, not my house. However, after the auction was done Landon came up with the idea to see if we would be able to switch out our piece of art. To my relief, it was able to be done! We were able to switch out the beach children for a scene from Winnie the Pooh. And to top it off we didn't have to ship it, we could carry it off the boat! I still don't have the piece hanging in my house, it will fit in much better in a child's room. So it will be in storage for a while.

That was pretty much the most interesting and exciting points of all of our time on the boat. I haven't even gotten to the ports of call yet. That will have to be in another post. Overall Kevin and I enjoyed every minute on the Disney Wonder and made some great friends while we were at it! We can't wait for our next cruise!
